What Does God Have To Say Today?
In this world of social media, it is common; a habit; a cultural tradition, that we check our social media often to see what the world has to say. So, I thought, "what if I checked the scriptures each morning "first" specifically to see what the Lord has to say to me today! Here is where I will record those thoughts:
May 2, 2024
Luke 24 - Several women went to the sepulcher where Jesus was buried the first day of the week after the sabbath, very early in the morning to bring spices they had prepared for his body. Two men in shining garments testified to them that Jesus had risen as He prophesied. They remembered His words. When they went and told the eleven and the rest, their words "seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not." Jesus then appears to the men.
What does this say about women and men, historically, and even today?
1. Women are attentive to care for the body/dead/traditions and the Sabbath.
2. Women were the first to receive a witness of the Savior's resurrection by testimony and by personal appearance.
3. Women had heard the Savior's teachings when He was among them and remembered them when reminded of them.
4. Women are often not believed by men.
Do not think that God thinks less of women than men, because they are not given the keys to preside over the church. Those responsibilities are given to men to teach them to serve, not to reward then for their greatness. Be about the Father's business ministering to His children. Honor righteous traditions. Keep the Sabbath Day. Hear His words in the scriptures and through the testimony of others who know. Jesus will witness to you His truth. Testify to the men, even if they will not believe you. Jesus will come after you and verify your words to them.
