But If Not...

 I'm looking for a pattern in past scriptures that gives both the possible blessing or the possible curse based on repentance or not. I'm wondering how many times the "but if not" part came to pass. What if ALL the "but if not's" have come to pass. Then maybe we are being told the "but if not's" for our day also will happen... 1. 3 Nephi 10: 6   O ye  house of Israel whom I have  a spared , how oft  will I  gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,  if ye will repent and  b return  unto me with full purpose of  c heart .    7   But  if not, O house of Israel, the places of your dwellings shall become  a desolate  until the time of the fulfilling of the  b covenant  to your fathers . This one seems to refer to the Jews NOT repenting and being scattered until the foretold time of gathering (which is the covenant made with their fathers) 2 . 3 Nephi 16: 13  But   if ...

Fullness of the Gospel

(From my scripture study this morning) Helaman 8 24  And now, seeing ye know these things and cannot deny them except ye shall lie, therefore in this ye have sinned, for ye have rejected all these things,   notwithstanding so many  a evidences  which ye have received; yea, even ye have received  b all  things, both things in heaven, and all things which are in the earth, as a witness that they are true.   25  But behold, ye have rejected the truth, and  a rebelled  against your holy God ; and even at this time, instead of laying up for yourselves  b treasures  in heaven, where nothing doth corrupt, and where nothing can come which is unclean, ye are heaping up for yourselves wrath against the day of  c judgment .  Mormon, seeing our day, knows that the Gentiles also reject the fullness of the gospel as these people did.
