All the word of the Lord will be fulfilled
Over and over in the scriptures I am hearing it affirmed that ALL THE WORDS OF THE LORD WILL BE FULFILLED. These "words" have been recorded in scripture so that we can have them and know them and be strengthened by them and be judged by them. I am going to start recording these "words" of prophecy that are yet to come so that I can know them and expect them and recognize them and be strengthened by them.
The 3 Nephites
3 Nephi 28:31 Therefore, great and marvelous works shall be wrought by them, before the agreat and coming day when all people must surely stand before the judgment-seat of Christ;
32 Yea even among the Gentiles shall there be a agreat and marvelous work wrought by them, before that judgment day.
footnote for "great":
2 Nephi 25:17 And the Lord will set his hand again the second time to restore his people from their lost and fallen state. Wherefore, he will proceed to do a marvelous work and a wonder among the children of men. When was the "first" time? Wasn't it after the first apostasy when the gospel was restored through Joseph Smith? Will there be another great apostasy (though not complete) or is he talking about the restoration of the Jews from their lost and fallen state, or the lost tribes? He does say in verse 32 that it is among the Gentiles....
33 And if ye had aall the scriptures which give an account of all the marvelous works of Christ, This sounds like the sealed portion of the Book of Mormon that prophecies to the end. The footnote for "all" says:
3 Nephi 26:9 And when they shall have received this, which is expedient that they should have first, to try their faith, and if it shall so be that they shall believe these things then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them.
10 And if it so be that they will not believe these things, then shall the greater things be withheld from them, unto their condemnation. 11 Behold, I was about to write them, all which were engraven upon the plates of Nephi, but the Lord forbade it, saying: I will try the faith of my people,
ye would, according to the words of Christ, know that these things must surely come.
34 And wo be unto him that will anot hearken unto the words of Jesus, and also to them whom he hath chosen and bsent among them; for whoso creceiveth not the words of Jesus and the words of those whom he hath sent receiveth not him; and therefore he will not receive them at the last day;
35 And it would be better for them if they had not been born. For do ye suppose that ye can get rid of the justice of an aoffended God, who hath been btrampled under feet of men, that thereby salvation might come?
Summary:
1. The 3 Nephites will perform great and marvelous works before the Second Coming
2. The great and marvelous work (notice it is not "work(s)") will be among the Gentiles
3. If we don't receive the words of Jesus (already written in scripture?) and the words of those whom he hath chosen and sent (the 3 Nephites and the end time servant?) we are not receiving Jesus and the Jesus will not receive us. (Think "parable of the 10 virgins". 5 (members of the church) knock at the door and Jesus does not receive them.
4. We can have these "sealed" words if we believe what we've already received. I'm thinking what we need to believe is the prophecies that are in them!
The Sealed Portion of the Book of Mormon
Revelations 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book awritten within and on the backside, bsealed with seven cseals.
2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is aworthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the aLion of the tribe of bJuda, the cRoot of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Footnote for “Root of David”:
Isaiah 11:10 ¶ And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Summary
The sealed scriptures are opened by someone who is “the root of Jesse. He is an ensign for us and we Gentiles are to seek him.
D&C 113:5 What is the aroot of Jesse spoken of in the 10th verse of the 11th chapter? of Isaiah
6 Behold, thus saith the Lord, it is a adescendant of Jesse, as well as of Joseph, unto whom rightly belongs the bpriesthood, and the ckeys of the kingdom, for an densign, and for the gathering of my people in the elast days.
Lds scholars will say this is Jesus. Abraham Gileadi says it is "In sum, three messianic persons may be described as “like unto Moses,” namely Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith, and the servant who prepares the way before the Lord’s second coming. While Jesus is the prophet like unto Moses, Joseph Smith and the Lord’s end-time servant perform additional essential restorative roles. All three compare to the “stem,” “rod,” and “root” of Jesse in Isaiah’s allegory of the olive tree (Isaiah 11:1, 10; D&C 113:1–6)."
This whole chapter is prophecy yet to come. All the yellow highlights we should be aware of:
3 Nephi 21:8 And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass that kings shall shut their mouths; for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they aconsider.
9 For in that day, for my sake shall the Father awork a work, which shall be a great and a bmarvelous cwork among them; and there shall be among them those who will not believe it, although a man shall declare it unto them.
10 But behold, the life of my servant shall be in my hand; therefore they shall not hurt him, although he shall be amarred because of them. Yet I will heal him, for I will show unto them that bmy wisdom is greater than the cunning of the devil.
11 Therefore it shall come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus Christ, which the Father shall cause ahim to bring forth unto the bGentiles, and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles, (it shall be done even as Moses said) they shall be ccut off from among my people who are of the covenant.
12 And my people who are a remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles, yea, in the midst of them as a alion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep, who, if he go through both treadeth down and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.
13 Their hand shall be lifted up upon their aadversaries, and all their enemies shall be cut off.
14 Yea, wo be unto the Gentiles except they arepent; for it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off thy horses out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy bchariots;
15 And I will cut off the cities of thy land, and throw down all thy astrongholds;
16 And I will cut off awitchcrafts out of thy land, and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;
17 Thy agraven images I will also cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, and thou shalt no more worship the works of thy hands;
18 And I will pluck up thy agroves out of the midst of thee; so will I destroy thy cities.
19 And it shall come to pass that all alyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.
20 For it shall come to pass, saith the Father, that at that aday whosoever will not repent and come unto my Beloved Son, them will I bcut off from among my people, O house of Israel;
21 And I will execute avengeance and bfury upon them, even as upon the heathen, such as they have not heard.
22 But if they will repent and hearken unto my words, and aharden not their hearts, I will bestablish my church among them, and they shall come in unto the covenant and be cnumbered among this the remnant of Jacob, unto whom I have given this land for their dinheritance;
23 And they shall assist my apeople, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the bNew Jerusalem.
24 And then shall athey assist my people that they may be gathered in, who are scattered upon all the face of the land, in unto the New Jerusalem.
25 And then shall the apower of heaven come down among them; and bI also will be in the midst.
26 And then shall the work of the Father commence at that day, even awhen this gospel shall be preached among the remnant of bthis people. Verily I say unto you, at that day shall the work of the Father commence among all the dispersed of my people, yea, even the tribes which have been clost, which the Father hath led away out of Jerusalem.
27 Yea, the work shall commence among all the adispersed of my people, with the Father to prepare the way whereby they may bcome unto me, that they may call on the Father in my name.
28 Yea, and then shall the work commence, with the Father among all nations in preparing the way whereby his people may be agathered home to the land of their inheritance.
29 And they shall go out from all nations; and they shall anot go out in bhaste, nor go by flight, for I will go before them, saith the Father, and I will be their rearward.
Things to look for:
- Kings shut their mouths - they see prophecy fulfilled?
- A great and marvelous work is declared and many do not believe it
- God's "servant" is marred and healed
- If God's covenant people who are Gentiles, don't believe the words of this "servant" they will be cut off
- The Remnant of Jacob, among the Gentiles, will have power over their adversaries
- If the Gentiles don't repent: transportation cut off; cities destroyed; all evil destroyed; they will be cut off
- If the Gentile saints DO repent: Christ will establish His church among them (Firstborn?); they'll be numbered among the Remnant of Jacob; Assist them in building the New Jerusalem; the power of heaven comes upon them and Christ is in their midst (to establish Zion?);
- The Gospel is preached to the Jews and the Lost Tribes
- The 144,000 gather from all nations and bring them to Zion
