See what you've never seen...

I've started combing through the Book of Mormon "last day" prophecies to see if there's any "light" ahead. There's certainly plenty of warning. Pres. Ballard just told us (in an instagram post 2 days ago) there will be " increasingly, man-caused calamities".  He also said that through united prayer, we can " change the history of the world ." I think he is talking about the history of the world as Satan would have it, and is marching full-steam ahead to accomplish. Pres. Nelson recently said Satan has "quadrupled his efforts". But we know "no unhallowed hand can stop the work of God". Satan and his minions are truly "unhallowed" hands. But God is counting on us to step forward and stop him. I believe the scriptures when they say that the pit Satan's followers are digging for us, they will fall into themselves - but we may have to unite and push them in ourselves! Moroni said: (Ether 8:22) ...

Scripture for our day - If ye are prepared ye shall not fear

I didn't realize that there is only one place in all of scripture where it says, "If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear". D&C 38. This is 'OUR' scripture for OUR day! It wasn't written in the Old Testament, The New Testament, or the Book of Mormon, or the Pearl of Great Price.  I was reminded to read the entire section when Pres. Nelson quoted the phrase in his opening talk of General Conference. There are some very important things taught in that section that are worth reviewing: Section 38 Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet, at Fayette, New York, January 2, 1831. The occasion was a conference of the Church. 1–6, Christ created all things; 7–8, He is in the midst of His Saints, who will soon see Him; 9–12, All flesh is corrupted before Him; 13–22, He has reserved a land of promise for His Saints in time and in eternity; 23–27, The Saints are commanded to be one and esteem each other as brethren; 28–29, Wars are predicted; 30–...

These signs follow them that believe

Two scriptures that we should find comfort in and claim the blessings from: D&C 89:4, 18-21 "Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation. .. 18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings , walking in obedience to the commandments , shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones; 19 And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge , even hidden treasures ; 20 And shall run and not be weary , and shall walk and not faint . 21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise , that the destroying angel shall pass by them , as the children of Israel, and not slay them . Amen. D&C 84:65-73 65 And these signs shall follow them that believe — 66 In my name they shall do many wonderful works ; 67 In my name they shall cast out devils ; 68 In my nam...

Why this fast is different...

As we approach this worldwide fast, I wanted to point out some possibly significant differences in what the prophet asked us to pray for the first time and what he asked this second time. In his first invitation he said: MARCH 29 FAST “As a physician and surgeon, I have great admiration for medical professionals, scientists. and all who are working around the clock to curb the spread of COVID-19. I am also a man of faith, and I know that during these challenging times , we can be strengthened and lifted as we call upon God and his Son, Jesus Christ — the Master Healer. “I invite you to join with me in a worldwide fast — for all whose health permits — to pray for relief from the physical, emotional and economic effects of this global pandemic. I invite members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints everywhere, along with our many friends, to fast and pray this Sunday, March 29. Let us unite our faith to plead for physical, spiritual and other healing throughout the en...
