Ponder this…

 1. Why did the apostles respond to Jesus statement “One of you will betray me” with “Lord, is it I?”What preceded this that had to do with betrayal? It was Peter denyingHim 3 times. Surely they all knew this had happened. And if it could happen to Peter, Hos chief apostle, who was beyond falling?  W 2. One master, Babylon, mark of beast,  3. Nephi e ample asking to know for self even though believes father. Have ye inquire d of the Lord?

Remission of Sins

(posted on social media by someone I don't know)  I heard something today that resonated with me... and actually made me want to curl in a ball and almost cry as the Lord impressed upon me the truthfulness of the statement and the state of the church (Christianity as a whole). It is this : We don't preach the remission of sins. We preach forgiveness of sins, but not remission. We live our lives often by what we may have done in the past rather than for what Jesus Christ did for us. We must remember that the purpose of Christ coming wasn't just so we could be forgiven, but so that we could live forgiven that we understand we are set free because of Him, we are pardoned, our sins ought not bind us anymore - our past ought not control our present or future- we are made free through and in Jesus Christ and by faith in His name. My pleading is this- don't just believe you are forgiven, begin to believe He came so our sins might be remitted. No longer can they bind us- He ...

What Does God Have To Say Today?

In this world of social media, it is common; a habit; a cultural tradition, that we check our social media often to see what the world has to say. So, I thought, "what if I checked the scriptures each morning "first" specifically to see what the Lord has to say to me today! Here is where I will record those thoughts: May 2, 2024 Luke 24 - Several women went to the sepulcher where Jesus was buried the first day of the week after the sabbath, very early in the morning to bring spices they had prepared for his body. Two men in shining garments testified to them that Jesus had risen as He prophesied. They remembered His words.  When they went and told the eleven and the rest, their words "seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not." Jesus then appears to the men. What does this say about women and men, historically, and even today? 1. Women are attentive to care for the body/dead/traditions and the Sabbath. 2. Women were the first to receive a witnes...

My Own Pillar of Light

Alma 32:35  O then, is not this real? I say unto you, Yea, because it is light; and whatsoever is light, is good, because it is discernible, therefore ye must know that it is good; and now behold, after ye have tasted this light is your knowledge perfect? I have not seen a pillar of light, but Individual rays of light can be gathered into my own pillar of light. Here are my little "rays" gathered together into one place. 1. Cottonelle contest 2. Wheat and Tares

Image
This is what I posted in response to a post about the church’s new PR guy. (who looks like a tare in his previous jobs, social media posts, etc. but also looks like a wheat with prior "I'm a Mormon" video and testimony) I thought of this person when I read the following this morning: Matthew 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. The Master instructed them not to do anything about the tares until the harvest. I think we can identify the tares among us...

Personal Revelation

Revelation for the Chruch, Revelation for Our Lives, April 2018 Pres. Russell M. Nelson "...  President Lorenzo Snow, “This is the grand privilege of every Latter-day Saint … that it is our right to have the manifestations of the Spirit every day of our lives. ” 4 One of the things the Spirit has repeatedly impressed upon my mind since my new calling as President of the Church is how willing the Lord is to reveal His mind and will. The privilege of receiving revelation is one of the greatest gifts of God to His children. Through the manifestations of the Holy Ghost, the Lord will assist us in all our righteous pursuits . As a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, I prayed daily for revelation and gave thanks to the Lord every time He spoke to my heart and mind. Imagine the miracle of it! Whatever our Church calling, we can pray to our Heavenly Father and receive guidance and direction, be warned about dangers and distractions, and be enabled to accomplish things we simpl...
